Lucknow, 12 January: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the youth should stay away from drugs and people should also be made aware.
Yogi warned the drug peddlers that if they do not desist, they will not only be sent to jail but their properties will also be confiscated, because such people are ruining the country and society.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was addressing the ‘Yuva Mahotsav’ organized by the state’s Youth and Sports Department at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on Monday.
On this occasion, he presented certificates and monetary awards to youth and women’s groups from various districts for their outstanding work in various fields, including drug eradication, environmental protection, water management, public libraries, and sports.
Earlier, Youth and Sports Minister Girish Yadav welcomed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and provided information about departmental schemes. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, MLAs Dr. Neeraj Bora, OP Srivastava, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharwal, along with departmental officials, were present at the event. The Chief Minister inaugurated and launched projects worth over 40 crore rupees.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while paying homage to Swami Vivekananda, said that Swami Vivekananda established the world’s oldest culture, the Indian Sanatan culture, on the global stage. He demonstrated to the world that Indian culture does not impose its views on any society and that India accepted any suffering humanity from across the globe. Swami Vivekananda envisioned India as a world leader, a dream the entire world is witnessing today.
Chief Minister Yogi said that today I pay my respects to Jijabai Mai Saheb on her birth anniversary, in whose upbringing and values ​​Chhatrapati Shivaji grew up and established Hindavi Swaraj.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while urging the youth to take inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekananda in the Yuva Mahotsav, said that if you move ahead with determination towards your goal, you will definitely get success, but often the youth become careless when they come close to their destination, whereas they should keep moving ahead without getting disappointed, then they will definitely reach their destination one day.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that at this ceremony, youth and women’s Mangal Dals were honored for various works. Mangal Dals should plant a tree in the name of Mother Earth. They should conserve old rivers, streams, and wells. Mangal Dals should use the sports kits provided to them to develop athletic talent among village youth. Additionally, sports competitions should be organized at village, district, division, and state levels, and youth should be rewarded. A Forest Festival will begin in the state in July, with millions of trees planted. Uttar Pradesh ranks first in India in forest cover.
Referring to Prime Minister and Chief Minister schemes to encourage youth to pursue self-employment, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that youth are being provided employment loans, training is being provided to enhance skills, and government jobs are being selected without any discrimination. Previously, jobs were distributed by extorting money, but now those who do so are being sent to jail.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that previously, businesses were apprehensive and investment was not forthcoming, but the situation has changed since 2017. Now, crores of rupees of investment are pouring in, and youth are finding employment. The successful Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj attracted millions of people. The arrival of millions of tourists in the state is providing employment to youth. This situation is set to improve further in the coming days. Yogi said that while the country achieved independence, not every Indian was able to participate in its celebrations. Now, PM Modi has set the goal of a developed India by 2047, marking the centenary of independence, and various programs and campaigns are being launched across the country to achieve this goal. Similarly, the “Tiranga in Every Home” campaign reminded people of their responsibilities to the country and society. A presentation of departmental schemes was also given at the event.
