Chances of rain in parts of Uttar Pradesh, temp fluctuation to continue till Feb 15, predicts Met

Kanpur, 01 February: While the temperature increased in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday due to the activity of western disturbance, also there was light rain in western Uttar Pradesh. There was even hailstorm in Shahjahanpur.

The Meteorological Department said that there will be fluctuating temperatures till February 15 and there is a possibility of rain in Central and Western Uttar Pradesh till February 5.

Meteorologist Dr Sunil Pandey said that during the next five days, two western disturbances one after the other are likely to affect North-West India. Western Disturbance can be seen as a low medicine line in the middle troposphere which is 5.8 km above the mean level and running along about north of 30ยฐN latitude to 70ยฐE longitude. In North India, jet stream winds up to 140 knots will continue to blow at a level of 12.6 kilometers above.

He said that a cyclonic circulation has formed over eastern Assam and surrounding areas. The induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and connecting with parts of Rajasthan. A trough is extending from Bangladesh through Gangetic West Bengal to North Odisha.

A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from February 3. Given these weather activities, there is a possibility of rain in Western Uttar Pradesh. There are chances of light rain with movement of clouds in Central Uttar Pradesh. From February 4 and 5, cold winds will again hit the Ganga plains due to which the temperature will drop. After this the temperature will increase but the temperature will fluctuate till February 15.

Told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 22.8 and the minimum temperature was 10.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 93 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 58 percent. The direction of the winds was north-east with an average speed of 2.4 km per hour.

According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in Hardoi, Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri in the next five days due to light to moderate cloudy sky. There is a possibility of cold and dense fog in the morning and night and light sunshine in the afternoon. There is a possibility of fluctuations in temperature due to western disturbance.
