Imphal, July 29: The CBI has registered an FIR and started an investigation in the video case of two Kuki women being stripped naked and paraded on the road in Manipur on May 4.

With this, the CBI has the responsibility of investigating a total of seven cases related to Manipur violence.

In fact, on the instructions of the union Home Ministry, the CBI is already probing six cases in Manipur. In connection with this investigation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by a DIG-rank officer has been constituted by the CBI.

The CBI has registered several FIRs in these cases. However, officially, the CBI is not yet ready to say anything in this context.

In this regard, a CBI official informally told me that the CBI has not arrested anyone in the Manipur case so far. The CBI has taken over the investigation of the viral video case.
