Lucknow, June 9: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has chosen to run Mayawati as the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to BSP insiders, the party would not join any opposition coalition and will campaign on its own in the Lok Sabha elections. “The leaders of the opposition are holding meetings in various states to lay the groundwork for the opposition parties to fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha election,” said senior BSP leader Bhimrao Ambedkar.

Even after multiple rounds of discussions, it remains unclear who will be the opposition’s Prime Ministerial candidate.” “The BSP, on the other hand, has decided to project party chief Mayawati as the prime ministerial candidate,” he explained.

According to Ambedkar, the BSP is not a party that follows other political parties, but rather a party built on ideas and cadre.

According to BSP officials, Mayawati maintained the trust of Dalits across the country and projected the image of a harsh and capable administrator. Party leaders predict that if Mayawati becomes the BSP’s prime ministerial candidate, Dalits who defected to the BJP will return.
