Body found at IPS officer farmhouse in Lucknow

Lucknow, 30 November: Sensation gripped the villagers after the dead body of a man was found hanging at the farmhouse of the IPS officer BK Maurya in Lucknow.

Maurya is posted in the DG Logistics department and an initial investigation revealed that the deceased was the manager of the farmhouse.

The deceased has been identified as Vijay (30). A peliminary police probe has hinted that the man died by suicide after being cheated in love. The body of the victim has been sent for a post-mortem examination and further investigation into the matter is underway.

The incident took place at Maurya’s farmhouse located between Mall’s Atari and Surtikheda village. Maurya had employed Vijay as the manager. On Tuesday, the villagers saw Vijay’s body hanging from a tree in the farmhouse. They informed the family members about the incident.

As the news spread, there was chaos in the whole village. Along with the family members, the people of the nearby villages also gathered on the spot.

On getting the information, ACP Malihabad Anindya Vikram Singh along with the Mall Police also reached the spot. He also called the forensic team.

Maurya also reached the farmhouse and assured fair investigation and action to the family members of the deceased.

According to the deceased’s brother Durgesh and sister Shanti, an attempt was made to kill Vijay by poisoning him a year ago. He also said that Vijay had gone to eat at the shop located at Saspan Pulia with some friends on Monday night.

Meanwhile, watchman, Meherban said that while returning he saw a young man with Vijay, who had stayed at the night.

Gangaram, the brother of the deceased, demanded an inquiry alleging murder. There are eight siblings in Vijay’s family.

According to the villagers, a decade ago the watchman of this farmhouse was strangled to death by miscreants.
