BJP plans nationwide public awareness campaign on Article 370 from Sept.1

New Delhi, Aug. 22 : With a section inimical to the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution and splitting of Jammu & Kashmir, trying to stoke wide controversy by vitiating the atmosphere across the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday is set to begin Jan Jagaran Abhiyan- public awareness campaign and Sampark Abhiyan on Article 370 starting next month. 

This move by the ruling party is aimed at launching a nation-wide drive to create awareness among the public about the historic decision taken by the Narendra Modi-led government justifying its action and how this unprecedented move has unified the whole country. 

The month-long outreach programme would start from September 1 to 30. 

BJP President Amit Shah, party’s working President JP Nadda, senior ministers, chief ministers among others would be participating in this program. 

The campaign would be organized in 370 places and the big meeting would be held in 35 big cities. 

Two committees have been formed which would be headed by Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of Jal Shakti (Water Conservation) Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

 In the Sampark Abhiyan, two highly prominent people from different regions across the country would explain why Article 370 was abrogated and what would be the result, for which Amit Shah and JP Nadda and other party leaders would meet about 2000 prominent personalities in the country.  

It is noteworthy, that this nationwide campaign is launched by BJP to explain the “One nation, one constitution” as the driving force behind scrapping the controversial special status provisions to J&K.
