Bikru case: UP govt files a reply in SC against Khushi Dubey’s bail plea

Kanpur, October 20: Hearing on the bail of newly married bride Khushi Dubey, co-accused in the state’s famous Bikaru case, is to be held on Thursday in the Supreme Court.

A day before the hearing, the Uttar Pradesh government has put its reply in the Supreme Court against the bail. This information has been given by Khushi’s advocate Shivakant Dixit.

Eight policemen including CO Devendra Mishra were killed in the Bikru incident. In this heinous murder case, Khushi Dubey, the new bride of Amar Dubey, who was killed in the encounter, has also been made a co-accused.

It is alleged that she had cooperated with the accused in the murder case.

Hearing on Khushi Dubey’s bail has been fixed in the Supreme Court on Thursday. A day before the hearing, the UP government has filed its reply against the bail. Along with this, two others have also filed intervention petition. In which a protest has been lodged by the relatives of the policemen against the bail granted to minor Khushi.

The matter has come to the Supreme Court on appeal for bail about one and a half months ago. The police have made Khushi and three women accused under section 120 B of IPC in their proceedings.

However, Khushi’s bail plea in the case has been rejected by the lower court and the high court. Against which Khushi’s lawyers Vivek Tankha, Deepak Bajpai and Shivkant Dixit have appealed in the Supreme Court.

Defence lawyer Shivkant Dixit said that the Uttar Pradesh government is adopting a manipulated gimmick. Under which one does something or the other, so that happiness cannot be guaranteed.
