Bhajanlal Sharma elected Rajasthan CM with 2 Dy CMs: Diya Kumari & Prem Chand Bairwa, Sharma close to RSS mentor, Nadda

Delhi, 12 December: The Bharatiya Janata Party has chosen first-time MLA Bhajanlal Sharma to be the next Chief Minister of Rajasthan, putting an end to all speculation surrounding the post. Along with Sharma, the state will also have two Deputy CMs – Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa.

The decision was made after a meeting of the newly elected BJP MLAs where Sharma was unanimously elected as the leader of the legislature party. The surprise choice was proposed by former CM Vasundhara Raje, who was also considered to be a strong contender for the position.

In addition to these appointments, BJP central observer for Rajasthan, Rajnath Singh also announced that Vasudev Devnani will be the Speaker. This decision by the BJP reflects their aim to bring in fresh faces and new leadership in the state, and it will be interesting to see how this team works together to govern Rajasthan.

The Bharatiya Janata Party announced Bhajan Lal Sharma as the new chief minister of Rajasthan. This decision was made in the party’s legislature meeting where former chief minister Vasundhara Raje proposed Sharma’s name. Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa were also named as Sharma’s deputy chief ministers, while BJP MLA Vasudev Devnani will take on the role of Assembly Speaker.

Bhajan Lal Sharma is a first-time MLA from the Sanganer assembly constituency and is known for being close to the party’s ideological mentor RSS and its chief JP Nadda.

He has also held important positions in the BJP’s organisational structure in Rajasthan, serving as general secretary four times. In the recent 2023 assembly elections, he won by a significant margin of over 48000 votes against the Congress candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj.

According to his election affidavit, Bhajan Lal Sharma is 56 years old and his father’s name is Kishan Swaroop Sharma. With his vast experience and strong support within the party, Bhajan Lal Sharma is expected to be a capable leader for Rajasthan.
