Ayodhya readies to break previous Guinness records of lighting of earthen lamps

Lucknow, 09 September: On November 3, on the day of Choti Deepawali, a target has been set to break previous Guinness World records (5.84 earthen lamps were lit on November 13, 2020) by lighting seven and a half lakh โ€˜diyasโ€™ simultaneously in Ayodhya.

Principal Secretary Tourism Mukesh Meshram has directed to complete the preparations for Ayodhya’s Deepotsav program on time.

In connection with the preparations for the Deepotsav program, Principal Secretary and Director General Tourism Mukesh Meshram held a meeting in the auditorium of the Directorate of Tourism on Thursday. During this, he said that the Deepotsav program would be organized in a grand manner.

In the meeting, Meshram directed the officers of all the concerned departments that there should be no shortage in the preparations for the Deepotsav program, the program should be conducted in a grand manner which can leave an indelible impression on the general public.

The Principal Secretary informed that in the Deepotsav, arrangements will be made for grand tableaux from Saket College, Ayodhya to Ram Katha Park by the Information Department.

He said that interesting, contemporary and practical tableaux should be presented. The work of branding of the program will also be done by the Information Department.

He informed that on this occasion digital Ramayana will be displayed by the Culture Department at Ram Vanagaman Marg, Shilp Bazaar, Museum premises. Along with this, beautiful and beautiful tableaux will be displayed by the teams of Bhopal, Bihar, Gonda and Ayodhya. Traditional folk dance will be presented by a total of 24 parties.

โ€œApart from this, cultural and other programs will be held. On the occasion of Deepotsav, the Culture Department will complete the work related to crafts exhibition, exhibition of paintings and staging Shri Ram’s global journey etc,โ€ He told.

According to the Principal Secretary, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia University, Ayodhya will arrange lamps, wicks, oil and volunteers to create a Guinness World Record by lighting 07.50 lakh lamps on Ram ki Paidi ghat simultaneously in the Deepotsav.

He said that T-shirts and caps would be provided to the volunteers. He said that there is a plan to prepare a new theme to make Deepotsav an international level event.

Special Secretary Tourism Manoj Kumar, Joint Director Tourism Avinash Chandra Mishra, Assistant Director Information Rishi Saxena and other officers were present in the meeting.

Apart from this, District Magistrate (DM) Ayodhya Anuj Kumar Jha, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ayodhya Vijay Pal Singh, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya Professor Shailendra Kumar Verma attended the meeting virtually.
