ATR-72 aircrafts to fly from Ayodhya’s ‘Shri Ram’ airport soon, Center gives Rs 250 crores

Lucknow, 26 February: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allocating funds of Rs 250 crores for the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport (MPSRA) to be built in Ayodhya. This will enable ATR-72 to operate from the airport.

In the same sequence, the construction work of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya is progressing rapidly. At the same time, airport construction activities are also going on fast in view of the providing facility of air route for the devotees and tourists here.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that Ayodhya is famous as Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. The grand temple construction of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya is going on a war footing. Ayodhya being the center of India’s eternal faith in India, lakhs of devotees visit here during different festivals.

Yogi added further that there is a coordinated form of both reverence and tourism in Ayodhya. Both the Central and State Government are working with full commitment to the overall development of Ayodhya in this regard. He said that many possibilities are being put forward to develop international tourism in Ayodhya as well.

The Chief Minister said that citizens of Indian origin and non-resident Indians (NRI) also live in large numbers across the world and they all desire to come to Ayodhya to pay obeisance to Lord Ram. Therefore, the Government of Uttar Pradesh sent a proposal to the Government of India (GOI) to develop the Ayodhya air strip as an international airport.

He said that the state government has made available about Rs 1000 crore rupees for the construction of the airport to the district administration for purchasing land. In this, the work of acquisition is being done at a rapid pace.

The Chief Minister said that till now more than 377 acres of land has been purchased and it is being extended on a war footing.

He expressed happiness that the Government of India has given its approval to the proposal of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and has provided 250 crores for immediate operation of aircraft like ATR-72 and airport construction there.

The Chief Minister said that the work of expansion of the airport will continue with it. In this, we are committed to carry forward the work by communicating with the GOI for better movement of air buses and other large passenger aircraft.

He said that I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing the amount of 250 crores for the operation of ATR-72 airline from Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport. He also thanked Union Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Puri.

The Chief Minister said that the Central Government has done the work of advancing the proposal of the State Government on a priority basis. Certainly it will make Ayodhya tourism and movement of pilgrims coming to Ayodhya easy and safer.

Recently, a team of four member experts of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) conducted a survey on the spot for the flight of ATR-72 aircraft in the first phase from Ayodhya Airport.

The team inspected the purchased land as well as the surrounding area. The Yogi government has also made a provision of Rs 101 crore in the budget for the financial year 2021-22 for this airport.

Rajya Sabha MP Brijlal said that having an airport in Ayodhya will not only give a boost to tourism in Ayodhya and the surrounding areas but also the passengers who reach Ayodhya via private vehicles from Lucknow, this commendable work of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Central Government there will be a lot of convenience for them as well.
