At least 8 dead, 19 injured in blast near Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi (Nov 10, 2025)

New Delhi, November 10: A powerful explosion in a car near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in the capital Delhi on Monday evening killed at least eight people.

The incident, which occurred at around 6:55 pm, caused chaos at the scene. The explosion also engulfed nearby vehicles. Upon receiving information about the incident, police, fire department, CAT ambulance, CRPF, and NIA teams arrived at the scene. The death toll is likely to rise.

Rescue teams, with the help of local residents, rescued 27 people one by one. At least eight people are reported dead in the blast, while 19 others were injured, some of whom are said to be in critical condition.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Lok Narayan Jaiprakash Hospital (LNJP).

Immediately after the incident, Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with the Delhi Police Commissioner to inquire about the incident. The NSG, NIA, and forensic teams arrived at the scene.

Fire department spokesperson AK Malik stated that the fire control room received information about the blast at 6:55 am. Upon receiving the information, seven vehicles were dispatched from nearby fire stations. Malik stated that firefighters brought the fire under control within half an hour.

According to the fire officer, six cars, two e-rickshaws, a tempo, and a bus were on fire. The explosion in the car was so powerful that it was completely destroyed. Fire officer CL Meena stated that several people were hospitalized by locals before the fire brigade arrived.

At the time of writing, the fire department confirmed eight deaths and reported 19 injuries. The fire department stated that the number of injured could rise. All figures are from LNJP Hospital.

Technical experts are investigating the case.

After the incident, a team of police forensic and technical experts has reached the spot. The police team is trying to find out what kind of explosion it was. Due to the explosion, the nearby streetlights were also broken. After the blast, a high alert has been declared in the entire Delhi.

According to security sources, the current situation seems to indicate that this could be a big conspiracy. Meanwhile, the nearby Chandni Chowk market has been closed. Apart from this, the entire area around Lal has been closed.
