Ankit Saxena murder case: life imprisonment with fine for all three culprits

Delhi, March 7: Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court has sentenced all three convicts in the 2018 Ankit Saxena murder case to life imprisonment. Additional Sessions Judge Sunil Kumar Sharma ordered to impose a fine of fifty thousand rupees each on the three convicts.

Ankit Saxena was murdered in broad daylight in Khayala, West Delhi. Ankit Saxena had a love affair with a girl from another religion. On December 23, 2023, the court convicted three accused in this murder case.

The court had convicted all three accused under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Under Section 302, there is a provision for punishment ranging from life imprisonment to death.

The court had convicted the girl’s parents and her maternal uncle of the murder of Ankit Saxena.In this case, the court recorded the statements of 28 witnesses and the evidence presented by Delhi Police. Among the 28 witnesses, the statements of Ankit Saxena’s father and complainant, Yashpal Saxena, mother Kamlesh, and Ankit’s two friends, Nitin and Anmol Singh, were prominent.

The incident occurred on February 1, 2018. Ankit’s girlfriend had left her house, due to which the girl’s parents and relatives killed Ankit. First, the girl’s parents and other relatives had an argument with Ankit and his family.

During this, the girl’s parents and relatives beat Ankit severely. When Ankit’s mother came to save him during the beating, the accused also beat her up.

According to the police, Ankit’s mother said that the accused slit Ankit’s throat with a sharp weapon in front of her. Ankit’s mother took him to the hospital in an e-rickshaw, where he was declared dead. Ankit was a photographer by profession.
