Amit Shah to attend “UP Day” program on January 24 in Lucknow, tight vigil puts in place

Lucknow, January 23: The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Lucknow on January 24 (Saturday) to attend the Uttar Pradesh Day program. Lucknow Police Commissionerate has made elaborate preparations for the security arrangements.

In a press release issued on Friday, Lucknow Police informed that “Uttar Pradesh Day-2026” is proposed to be organized at “Rashtra Prerna Sthal” located in Basantkunj Housing Scheme of Lucknow Development Authority under Thakurganj area. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in this program as the chief guest. Along with him, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, several ministers and many dignitaries along with about 10 thousand common people will also participate. In the current scenario, this program is very sensitive and important from the security point of view.

The Lucknow police told that for security reasons, the program venue and sensitive areas have been divided into 06 super zones, 09 zones, 27 sectors. Under field deployment, a total of 3035 policemen, five companies of PAC, one RAF company have been deployed. Senior officers include six Deputy Commissioners of Police, 9 Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police, 29 Assistant Commissioners of Police. Apart from these, 101 Inspectors, 940 Sub-Inspectors, 1868 constables will be deployed. In addition, three BDDS (bomb disposal squads), one anti-mine team, five anti-sabotage check teams, one ATS team, one NSG (sniper and anti-drone system) team, a wireless unit, 126 Home Guards, and teams from the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) will be present.

The police further added that to ensure impenetrable security, extensive mock drills have been conducted for route rehearsals, medical response, and crowd management. It was also reported that the entire area is being monitored by 24 CCTV cameras, controlled from a dedicated control room. Police will maintain a 24-hour vigil through social media. A special traffic plan has been implemented on the routes leading to the venue. Traffic advisories are being issued separately for the convenience of the public. Lucknow Police urges the public to cooperate with security arrangements and adhere to traffic diversions issued by the police from time to time.
