New Delhi, 1 October: All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced the postponement of its previously scheduled ‘Bharat Bandh’ of 3 October regarding the Waqf Amendment Act.
The Board has taken this decision in view of the religious festivals of the Hindu- the majority population of the India. Along with this, the Board has informed that the new dates of Bharat Bandh will be announced soon.
All India Muslim Personal Law Board spokesperson Dr Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas said that on the dates of Bharat Bandh, religious festivals of our fellow countrymen are being organised in some states of the country. Due to this, an emergency meeting of the Board officials was held under the chairmanship of President of Muslim Personal Law Board Hazrat Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani.
The meeting was attended by the President of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, General Secretary Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, spokesperson and National Convener of the Tahaffuz-e-Auqaf Campaign, Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, and other Board officials
After reviewing all circumstances, it was decided to postpone the proposed Bharat Bandh on October 3rd. Therefore, the Bharat Bandh on October 3rd is postponed. He also stated that new dates for the proposed Bharat Bandh regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill will be announced soon.
The Board’s protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act will continue as before, and all programs will be held as scheduled.
