Act in a friendly manner with people, CM Yogi to UP Police

Lucknow, 25 January: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by directing the senior officials to take strict action against crime and criminals, he said that the police will have to act in a friendly manner towards the common man.

Changes in attitude towards functioning of police and home guards

He said that the attitude of common people towards the functioning of Police and Home Guards during Prayagraj Kumbh and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and Corona period has changed. Their images have improved. The police force will have to live up to the public expectations while adopting the same methodology and management.

He said that law and order and crime control are among the top priorities of the state government. The state government is committed to protecting the people of the state.

Police force work appreciated during Corona period

The Chief Minister was reviewing the works of Home, Prison Administration and Reforms and Home Guards Department at his government residence.

Yogi said that the manner in which the police force worked during the Corona period was appreciated. Initially, when resources were not available and all activities were closed, PRV-112 undertook home delivery. More than 40 lakh workers and labourers working in different states returned to the state and about 60 lakh labourers and workers from other states passed through here to their respective districts, whose arrangements were well managed by the police and home guards. The process of this management should be continued even further.

Complete construction work of Home and Prison Department in a time bound manner

The Chief Minister directed to send the proposal of setting up of Center of Excellence for Forensics to the Central Government soon.

He said that the construction works under Home and Prison Department in the state should be completed in a time bound manner. Special care should be taken of standards and quality. Residual works should be completed expeditiously relative to budget approvals.

Time required working while adopting modern technology

He said that there should be regular review at the departmental level. Field visits should be done by senior officers. The quality of construction works should be checked.

CM continued saying that it is the need of the hour to work while adopting modern technology. Relaxation and delay in police modernization work should not be done.

He said that pending investigation cases related to EOW, SIT and CBCID should be disposed of expeditiously.

Posting on merit basis, police personnel should be rewarded for good works

The Chief Minister said that the prosecution took effective action against the crimes committed against women and girls, which has given a boost to ‘Mission Shakti’ and women’s empowerment.

Yogi spoke that in the prosecution and court related cases, effective punishment should be done to punish the culprit.

He said that posting should be done on the basis of merit. Police personnel should be rewarded for good works. He said that in districts where there are no police lines, action should be taken to establish them.

Chaos and anarchy should not get any kind of relaxation

The Chief Minister said that chaos and anarchy should not be allowed any kind. Let there be action in time. The smallest incident should be noted. Perform PRV-112 continuous patrolling. Action should be taken immediately on receiving information from the notification. Full vigilance and vigilance should be exercised at sensitive places.

Strict action should be taken against crimes against weaker sections, women and girls. Procurement of infrastructure facilities in jails should be expedited. During this, Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary Home Guards Anil Kumar, Inspector General of Prisons Anand Kumar gave detailed information about the departmental functions and activities to the Chief Minister.
