Lucknow, 17 September: In view of the record breaking rains across the state with flood-prone areas for two days, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given many important instructions to the top officials.
Yogi has asked the officials and employees of the civic body and Panchayati Raj to come down to the field and take stock of the damage caused by the rains.
He has also asked to provide proper relief to the people in the flood-affected areas and make preparations for that no disease spreads anywhere due to water logging. The health department and municipal bodies departments have been alerted for this.
Meanwhile, river Ganga in Badaun, Sharda in Kheri, Ghaghra in Ballia, Rapti in Gorakhpur and Kwano rivers in Gonda are flowing above the danger level. In such a situation, instructions have also been given to take special vigil in these districts and carry out relief work expeditiously.
The state government engaged in flood relief does not want to leave any stone unturned in saving human life. For this, they have put all their strength in the flood prone areas. 1134 flood shelters have been set up in the flood affected areas of the state where following the rules of Covid, complete arrangements have been made for people to live, eat.
In the changing season, 1125 medical teams have been set up to ensure that no disease spreads in the flood affected areas. 6375 ordinary boats and 451 motor boats have been deployed to move people from flood affected areas to safer places.
With the construction of 1327 flood posts, 52001 people have been evacuated to safer places due to the efforts of the government. Providing relief to the people trapped in the flood affected areas, the government has distributed 290239 ration kits, 579128 lunch packets.
The government has also distributed 251320.58 meter tripal to the affected people. 224628 water pouches, 234676 ORS packets, 2646078 chlorine tablets have also been distributed.
At the same 9 teams of NDRF, 16 teams of SDRF and 39 teams of 15 companies of PAC have been deployed in the flood affected districts for relief work. With the help of these teams, the flood affected areas are being evacuated to safer places.
Along with this, they are being helped in providing food and relief materials. The government’s effort is to save animals along with human life, for this the government has established 1770 animal camps and has also got 829531 animals vaccinated.
