Kanpur, August 21: Shekhar Suman, 28, resident of Shahjahapur, who made pornographic videos of women and girls on social media by befriending them, has been arrested in Kanpur, police said.
The police have recovered 65 porn videos and one thousand obscene pictures from him. Shekhar Suman used to extort money from women and girls by doing this.
A woman, resident of Kalyanpur, who became a victim of the vicious, lodged an FIR in the police station Kalyanpur on August 7. It was told in it that a person named Ankur Omar, after befriending on Facebook, made physical relations with her and made obscene videos by trapping her in his trap. Now he is blackmailing. Meanwhile, the husband has also come to know everything.
Investigating the complaint, the Crime Branch arrested 28-year-old Shekhar Suman, a resident of Jalalabad police station of Shahjahanpur. When the crime branch checked his mobile and Facebook accounts, the police were also shocked as around 65 pornographic videos of girls have been recovered from his possession. Along with this, chatting with hundreds of girls and their contact numbers were also found.
According to the Kanpur police , the accused chatted daily by messaging to about one and a half to two hundred girls. He has made an ID on Facebook in the name of Ankur Gupta, Ayush Aggarwal, Ankur Omar, Neha Aggarwal, Soumya Omar etc. The account which has been created under the name Ankur Omar only has its real photo in it, in the rest fake photos of girls have been kept.
Shekhar, who has caught hundreds of girls in his trap, is a graduate of a Sanskrit college in Shahjahanpur. He got this idea from a friend of his, Satyam Awasthi.
According to Shekhar, Satyam also used to befriend girls in the same way. Shekhar is the third among four brothers and a sister.
Once Shekhar is caught, the crime branch will try to contact other victims. For this, the social media accounts of Shekhar Suman will also be searched. The complaint of any victim who has become a victim of this and will come forward and get an FIR will also be included in the action.
Disclosing the incident, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anand Prakash Tiwari said that the culprit is being interrogated as he was in touch with more than two thousand women and girl students on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
