ASHA workers to visit quarantine homes once in three days.

Lucknow, 15 April: Instructions have been issued to quarantine the workers and labours coming to their homes in Uttar Pradesh from other states of the country. Manuals have been made to ensure that the infection does not spread across the state due to workers coming from outside, informed Additional Chief Secretary Medical Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad on Thursday.

He said that after the migration of labours and workers, they will be screened by the district administration. During the screening, the infected person will be isolated in a hospital or home. People with symptoms who will not remain infected will remain home quarantined for 14 days. There will be a home quarantine for seven days without symptoms.

He said that Accredited Social Health Activists (Asha) workers would visit quarantined homes once in three days to get information about symptoms like cough, fever and difficulty in breathing in families. At the same time, Covid Protocol will be taken care of by Asha during their visit and family members will also be sensitized.

“At the same time, the Village Monitoring Committee in rural areas and the Mohalla Monitoring Committee in urban areas will be used for community surveillance and cooperation, said Prasad.

He informed that on receipt of information of Covid symptoms in any family members during the visit by ASHA worker, arrangements will be made to inform the medical officer in-charge and send 108 ambulances to the Quarantine Centre.

He further added that while the monitoring committee will inform the district administration about the violation of the rules by the family, it will also inform the family for necessary action on social difficulties to get the benefit of state facilities.
