Lucknow, April 16: The Urban Development and Power Minister A.K. Sharma ordered to suspend the sub-divisional officer (SDO) Amit Kumar after taking cognizance of the alleged viral video of him circulating on social media.
Following Minister Sharma’s instructions, MD Shambhu Kumar suspended Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Amit Kumar with immediate effect. Departmental proceedings have also been initiated against him.
Sharma spoke with the Managing Director (MD) of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL), Shambhu Kumar, and directed a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action.
In this regard, the Chief Engineer, Azamgarh, also informed that immediate action has been taken against SDO II Amit Kumar of Division I of Mau district in the case of the objectionable video, and a departmental inquiry is underway.
Minister A.K. Sharma stated clearly on Thursday that such cases will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said that the strictest possible action will be taken against officers/employees who tarnish the image of the government and indulge in indiscipline.
