Fugitive in Aman Yadav murder case arrested in UP police encounter

Sultanpur, December 13: An encounter broke out between police and criminals late Friday night in the Chanda police station area of โ€‹โ€‹Sultanpur district in Uttar Pradesh in which one criminal was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment in custody. The arrested accused was involved in the Aman Yadav murder case, police told.

The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akhand Pratap Singh said on Saturday that late Friday night, police in the Chanda police station area tipped that two accused linked to the Aman Yadav murder case were trying to escape on a bike. When the police team gheroed them, the criminals opened fire on the police team, to which the police also returned fire.

ASP further told that criminal Pawan Yadav was shot in the leg, injuring him in the encounter. One of his accomplices managed to escape. The arrested accused is a resident of Naraini Safipur in Sultanpur district. An illegal pistol, a live cartridge, and an empty 315 bore cartridge were recovered from his possession.

It is noteworthy that Aman Yadav was kidnapped and beaten to death on December 6 in the Chanda police station area. A case was registered against 10 people in this matter at the Chanda police station. A team was formed to successfully uncover the incident. The police had already arrested five named accused in this murder case. Pawan Yadav is the sixth accused to be arrested in this case.
