New Delhi, December 03: Some flights were delayed due to a technical glitch in check-in systems at several airports across the country on Wednesday morning. The disruption in check-in systems affected flights of Air India Express, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, and IndiGo.
According to official sources, the cause of this technical glitch is being attributed to a problem in the global service of Microsoft Windows. Due to the system glitch on Wednesday morning, check-in counters at several airports across the country faced problems. This technical glitch has delayed many flights.
As per the official sources, following this, airlines had to implement manual check-in and boarding procedures, leaving passengers stranded in very long queues. The problem began when a global issue with Microsoft Windows services caused the airport’s IT systems to crash, rendering the software used by airlines for check-in and boarding inoperable. Services of at least four airlines β IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, and Air India Express β have been affected.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said its on-site teams are working closely with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless and efficient travel for passengers. There was no immediate comment from Microsoft or the airlines.
