Moradabad, 30 November: At least, six members of a family were killed in a head-on collision between a roadways bus and an auto on Delhi-Lucknow National Highway in Katghar police station area of ​​Moradabad metropolis on Sunday evening, police said.

As per the police, all of them were coming to attend a wedding ceremony organised in Mudhapande area of ​​Thana Kundarki of the district. Six other people were seriously injured in the incident, who were immediately admitted to the hospital.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the horrific road accident and gave necessary instructions to the officials.
Sanju, Seema, wife of Karan Singh, Aarti, daughter of Murari, Abhay, son of Omveer, Suman, wife of Hardeep, and Karan Singh’s other daughter, residents of Abdullahpur village in the Kundarki area, were traveling in Sanju’s auto to attend a wedding ceremony in Raftapur village in the Katghar area. As their auto approached Zero Point, a Meerut depot bus coming from behind lost control and rammed the auto.
The impact was so severe that the auto was completely damaged. Sanju, Seema, Aarti, Abhay, and Suman died tragically on the spot. Six other seriously injured people were immediately rushed to the district hospital. Another family member, Ananya, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment, bringing the death toll to six. The injured are undergoing treatment and are reported to be in critical condition.
Upon receiving the information, local police and rescue teams arrived at the scene. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the bus driver. This incident once again raises serious questions on road safety.
SP City Ranvijay Singh said that in Katghar police station area, people of the same family were going to a wedding in a tempo when a bus hit it from behind. Six people travelling in the tempo died in this accident. The bus was caught, but the driver had fled from the spot. The village of these people is said to be Kundarki Abdullahpur. At present, our police team will arrest the accused soon.
