Lucknow, November 11: The Lucknow traffic police has slapped challan to 2,492 vehicles for violating traffic rules and seized 28 vehicles on Tuesday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Ashok Kumar Singh, said that a Traffic Month campaign is being run in November. In this campaign, action is being taken against those who violate traffic rules along with raising awareness among the people.
In this sequence, on Tuesday, the police issued challans to 1245 two-wheeler drivers for not wearing helmets, 243 for no-parking violations, 65 for defective number plates, 28 for driving without insurance, 54 for driving on the wrong side, and 174 for carrying three passengers. This action will continue in the future.
The traffic police appeals to the citizens to follow road safety rules and cooperate in maintaining smooth traffic system.
