Gautam Buddha Nagar, October: Fortuner car driver pointed a pistol at a sanitation worker after the garbage truck collided with his car on Saturday in Gautam Buddha Nagar. The video of the incident has gone viral on various social media platforms. Police have formed three teams and started searching for the young man. Police have registered a case under five sections, including using casteist slurs, police said.

According to Inspector Anuj Kumar Saini, in-charge of the Sector-49 police station, the incident occurred in Street No. 4 of Hoshiarpur village within the police station area. On Saturday, sanitation workers were cleaning the streets. In a narrow alley, the sanitation worker’s garbage truck collided sightly with a Fortuner car parked there. At this mere incident, the man sitting in the car got out of his car and threatened the sanitation worker with a pistol. Before this, the man grabbed the sanitation worker’s hair and dragged him towards himself. Bystanders were seen trying to reason with the man.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sumit Kumar Shukla, the accused has been identified as Yogesh Yadav, a resident of Bahlolpur village in Sector 63. However, police investigations have revealed that the pistol he carries is licensed. The sanitation worker’s name is said to be Sanjeev Kumar, who had brought his garbage truck there. The accused, Yogesh, is also said to be associated with a political party. Although it is not entirely clear which party he is affiliated with, the police are investigating all these facts. Police say they will ensure the accused’s arrest soon.

More than a dozen people have posted the video on social media platforms (X), demanding justice for the sanitation worker and the arrest of the accused, Yogesh.

Meanwhile, DCP Noida Yamuna Prasad has announced the formation of teams to investigate the incident.

He stated that the matter is under consideration. Three teams have been formed and raids are being conducted at possible locations. The accused will be arrested soon.
