Kanpur, December 3: The 2025β26 campus placement season began at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
On the first day itself, 672 students received job offers, the highest number ever recorded for a first day. This achievement represents a 16 percent increase compared to last year’s Day-1 placement numbers. Some results are still in the process of being announced, which is why the number of job offers is expected to jump further.
On Wednesday, IIT Director Dr Prof. Manindra Agarwal announced that the 2025β26 campus placement season began on December 1. A total of 627 students received job offers on the first day of placements, including pre-placement offers. This year, 253 PPOs were recorded, a 27 percent increase compared to last year.
Agarwal stated that nine students received foreign offers this year, a testament to IIT Kanpur’s growing relevance and competitiveness in the global employment landscape. Students received annual packages worth several crores, a matter of pride for the institute. This also reflects IIT Kanpur’s credibility and the strong demand for its graduates.
Professor Manindra Agarwal stated that this year, more than 250 companies have expressed interest in hiring IIT Kanpur students. Major companies include Accenture, BlackRock, HSBC, SAP, Airbus, PwC, NACI, Qualcomm, and Deutsche Bank, among others.
The institute’s leadership congratulated all selected students and expressed gratitude to its recruitment partners. He stated that with more companies arriving on campus in the coming days, and many students yet to join the placement process, the coming weeks will also bring even more exciting career opportunities for students.
