3rd RoT b/w Centre and farmers’ outfits failed, 4th to be held on Sunday

Chandigarh, 16 February: Even on Thursday night, no agreement could be reached on the ongoing third round of talks ( RoT) with the central government after the farmers’ organizations of Punjab called for a march to Delhi. Now the fourth round of talks will be held in Chandigarh on Sunday evening.

The third round of talks lasted until around 2 am. union Ministers Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal and Nithyananda Roy attended the meeting as representatives of the Central Government. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and state officials took their sides.

Union Minister Arjun Munda said that many issues are being agreed upon. A detailed report needs to be prepared on some demands. Farmers are ready for talks. A report has been sought from the authorities regarding the issuance of notification of MSP and loan waiver of farmers.

Now the fourth phase meeting will be held on February 18 at 6 pm. Chief Minister Mann said that the state government is ready to take any decision to meet the demands of the farmers. The farmers have been persuaded to attend the meeting in Chandigarh on Sunday.

Kisan leader Swarna Singh Pandher and Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that the Delhi march is not a question of prestige. If the demands are accepted at this place then the farmers will return to where they are currently sitting. Give an assurance in writing to meet the Government’s demands. He will attend the meeting on Sunday.
