Pratapgarh, 19 July: Police said two physicians and a dozen medical students were booked on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting an advocate at the Pratapgarh government medical institution in Uttar Pradesh.

“Shashikant, advocate, in a police complaint has alleged that he was attacked and roughed up by Dr Lakshmikant and Dr Sachin of the government medical college on Tuesday,” said Kotwali police station SHO Satyendra Singh. Several hundred medical students joined the physicians in their onslaught on him.”

After a disagreement between the health facility’s personnel and Sashikant, who had gone there with a relative, the event occurred. In his lawsuit, the advocate also claimed that physicians and students tore his garments.

SHO stated that physicians and students who have yet to be identified have been charged under the Indian Penal Code.
