Noida, July 7: According to police, two Chinese nationals have been apprehended for reportedly staying in Greater Noida on expired visas. Deng Chonckon and Meng Shouguo, both roughly 30 years old, were residing in Greater Noida’s Greenwoods Society in Sector Omega 1.

According to authorities, the pair worked at the Oppo plant in this city. “Based on inputs, officials from the Beta 2 police station verified the passports and visas of Chinese nationals on Wednesday, and it was discovered that the validity of their documents (visas) had expired,” a police spokeswoman said.

Following this, the foreigners were imprisoned and legal action was taken against them.

The two have been sent to a prison centre in Delhi’s RK Puram for additional deportation proceedings, according to the police.

According to a local police officer, the Chinese nationals arrived in India on an e-Business Visa and worked at Oppo’s factory in Greater Noida for six months. “Their visas’ validity had expired on April 22,” the officer noted.
