Lucknow, August 22: Amid the uproar of the opposition, the Yogi Government introduced seventeen Bills in the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Saturday, the third day. The house had to be adjourned for 15 minutes due to the uproar.

According to the predetermined schedule today, as soon as the proceedings of the House started at 11 am, the Members of the opposition created uproar over the coronavirus infection and poor law and order condition in the state. They were shouting slogans against the government. During this time, the MLAs of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress also reached to the Well of the House.

Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit, however, explained to the MLAs who were creating uproar and also reminded them of the physical distance protocol due to the spread of the deadly virus but the members of the opposition overlooked the advice of the Speaker. The Speaker then adjourned the proceedings of the House for 15 minutes.

When the proceedings of the House resumed, the members of the opposition again started creating uproar. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna objected to this. Then, in the midst of uproar, 17 bills were introduced by the government on the floor of the house.

Significantly, the monsoon session of the assembly started on Thursday. But the house was adjourned after paying homage to the departed members for the first two days. Today, the proceedings of the House are going on Saturday. People say that this is happening after a long time. Generally, House meetings are not held on Saturdays and Sundays due to public holidays but sometimes the Speaker may call a meeting under special circumstances.

About a decade ago, when Kesari Nath Tripathi was the Speaker of the Assembly, he also called the House on a few occasions on Saturday.
