Sambhal, October 27: On the instructions of the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh, a drive to remove illegal encroachments from government lands is underway in Sambhal. The administration is diligently working to free government land from encroachment one by one. In this sequence, in the village of Sher Khan Sarai in the Sadar Kotwali area, the administration used bulldozers to free approximately 27 bighas of government land worth 28 crores rupees.

Officials said that this land is registered in the name of the Revenue Department and had been illegally occupied and cultivated by some people for nearly two decades.

On Monday, an administrative team led by Tehsildar Dhirendra Pratap Singh arrived at the site and removed the encroachment with a JCB machine.

Officials said that this land was marked as kiln land. A heavy police force was deployed during the operation to prevent any untoward incidents. The administration has clarified that similar action will continue against those occupying government property.
