The Yogi Cabinet has approved the proposal to give horizontal reservation to former Agniveers (after 4 years of service) in the direct recruitment of Uttar Pradesh Police Constable, PAC, Constable Horsemen and Firemen by reserving 20 percent posts. Like ex-servicemen, a relaxation of 03 years will be provided in the maximum age limit by reducing the service period as Agniveer.

Finance Minister informed that the Agneepath scheme has been started by the Government of India, which gives patriotic and motivated youth an opportunity to serve in the armed forces (Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force). Under this, the first batch of Agniveers will come out of service in 2026. Former Agniveers of Uttar Pradesh will get the benefit of this decision of the state government.

6 rooms and 12 beds will be allowed

The Uttar Pradesh government has also approved the Uttar Pradesh Bed and Breakfast (B&B) and Home Stay Policy-2025. The objective of this new policy is to provide better and accessible accommodation facilities to the devotees and tourists visiting the religious and tourist places of the state.

This proposal of the Tourism Department will solve the problem of accommodation of tourists at major religious or tourist places. According to the B&B and Homestay Policy-2025, any person can register his unit of 1 to 6 rooms as a homestay in religious and tourist places. Under this, a maximum of 12 beds will be allowed. Any tourist can stay here for 7 consecutive days by taking advantage of this facility. In case of staying longer than this, there will also be a provision for renewal. The permission process will be completed through a committee headed by the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police.

Registration will be easy Giving information about the cabinet decision, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said that a nominal fee of Rs 500 to Rs 750 will be charged for homestay units in rural areas. At the same time, an application fee of two thousand rupees has been fixed for urban or silver category homestays.

He said that due to the vibrant cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh and places of historical importance, this state is a center of attraction for foreign and domestic tourists. Due to the absence of any such policy in the state earlier, homestay operators had to register on the Nidhi Plus portal of the Central Government. Now under this new policy of the state government, they will be able to register through a simple process by taking no objection from the local bodies.

Tourism and employment will be promoted Suresh Khanna said that apart from this, financial incentives and grants have also been arranged in this policy so that the residents of the state can be encouraged to use their homes in tourism interest. With the implementation of this policy, not only will tourists get the option of cheap and convenient stay, but new employment and income opportunities will also be created for the local people. This policy will prove helpful in strengthening the economy and tourism infrastructure of the state.
