Yogi cabinet approves 22 proposals including free LPG on Diwali under Ujjwala Yojana

Lucknow, 26 September: At least, 22 proposals have been approved in the cabinet meeting held in Lok Bhawan on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The cabinet has approved the proposal of Industrial Development Department regarding semi-conductors. Apart from this, approval has been given to the private university proposal of Higher Education Department, Thakur Yuvraj Singh University, Fatehpur for issuing letter of intent (LOL) has been given. Gandhi University Jhansi has been given approval for issuing letter of intent, Radha Govind University, Chandausi has been given approval for the operation rights proposal.

The cabinet has approved the Uttar Pradesh District Mineral Foundation Trust Third Amendment Rules 2025. Approval has been given for determining the paddy purchase policy under the price support scheme in Kharif marketing year 2025-26. Paddy procurement will take place in Western Uttar Pradesh from October 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026, and in Eastern Uttar Pradesh from October 15, 2026, to February 28, 2026. This year, the purchase price for common paddy has been set at ₹2,369 per quintal, and for Grade A paddy at ₹2,389 per quintal, with a target of 6 million metric tons. The coarse grain procurement policy has been approved. The procurement price for maize has been set at ₹2,400 per quintal, millet at ₹2,775 per quintal, sorghum (hybrid) at ₹3,699 per quintal, and sorghum (maldandi) at ₹3,749 per quintal.

The proposal to provide free cylinders on Diwali under the Ujjwala Yojana has been approved. Based on the appeal filed in the Supreme Court regarding dependents of deceased, titled “Premlata vs. Government of Uttar Pradesh,” under the deceased dependent scheme, the dependent of a person who dies in a particular cadre will receive a job in the same cadre. For example, a dependent of a Group C employee will receive a job in the same category, and a dependent of a Group D employee will receive a job in the same category. The proposal in this regard has been approved.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a 90-km greenfield link expressway from the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Ganga Expressway via Farrukhabad.

Under the Chief Minister’s Urban Expansion New City Promotion Project, funding proposals for the Rampur, Ayodhya, Lucknow, and Baghpat Development Authorities have been approved.

A proposal to open a portal and make budgetary arrangements for scholarship fee reimbursement payments for students (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, General, Other Backward Classes, and Minority communities) who missed their scholarships in 2024 due to various reasons has been approved. A provision of ₹647.38 crore has been made for this purpose. The Sant Kabir Textiles and Apparel Park scheme has been approved for employment.
