Baghpat, March 9: The Yogi government on Monday removed Brijendra Shukla, Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh, from his post. This action was taken following a complaint from Minister-in-Charge Jaswant Saini. The CDO has been attached to the government headquarters.
As per the sources, complaints of negligence against the Baghpat CDO reached Lucknow. Village Development Officers and Area Panchayat officials also protested against him at the district headquarters for three days. During a review of development works, Minister-in-Charge Jaswant Saini also received complaints about his negligence.
Following this, Minister-in-Charge Jaswant Saini wrote a letter to the government expressing displeasure with the CDO’s actions and requesting his removal from the district. Taking cognizance of the letter, the matter was reviewed at the government level, following which the CDO was removed from his post.
However, at present, there is no information yet about the appointment of a new Chief Development Officer in Baghpat.
