Woman found dead with head crushed in Mirzapur

Mirzapur, January 8: The body of woman was found on Thursday in the Karhiya forest of Baluwa Bajahur, located in Sakteshgarh, Chunar police station area of โ€‹โ€‹Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh. Unidentified assailants slit her throat with a sharp weapon and then crushed her head with a stone in an effort to hide her identity before fleeing, police told.

Villagers heading to the forest in the morning saw the blood-soaked body and informed the police station. Upon receiving information about the body,

Chunar Kotwali police and Chunar Circle Officer (CO) Manjari Rao arrived at the scene. Police cordoned off the crime scene, collected forensic evidence, and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.

Police station in-charge Vijay Shankar Singh stated that the woman has not yet been identified. Missing person reports filed with nearby police stations are being examined. An intensive investigation is underway to search for suspects in the forest and surrounding areas. The incident will be revealed soon based on the post-mortem report and technical evidence.
