Raebareli, January 20: The Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, who was on a visit to his parliamentary constituency Raebareli, on Tuesday strongly attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for bringing VB-G-RAM-G law in place of MNREGA.
Calling this law against the poor, Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government is giving priority to bureaucrats instead of the poor and is trying to centralize power.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was talking to journalists here. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress is running a MNREGA Bachao Abhiyan across the country in protest against the Modi government’s Developed India-Ji Ram Ji Law 2025 (VB-G Ram Ji Bill).
Rahul Gandhi, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that the purpose of MNREGA was to provide unemployed villagers with a means of earning money, but the Prime Minister does not want that. He wants to centralize power and hand it over to the bureaucracy. He wants to leave the poor to starve. In the name of reforming the Act, the protection shield for the poor has been removed. He also condemned the removal of Mahatma Gandhi’s name from the Act.
The most important event of Rahul Gandhi’s visit was the MNREGA Chaupal held in Umran, Unchahar. Addressing the MNREGA Chaupal, he said that the idea behind MNREGA during the three-term Congress government was to give responsibility to the Panchayats. They should be given financial responsibility. The second goal was to ensure a fixed wage for the poor people of India so that no one gets less than what is paid anywhere.
Attacking Prime Minister Modi, the Congress leader said that Modi wants to keep all the power of the government to himself; he wants to give power to the bureaucrats. It is not a big deal that MNREGA’s name has been changed, but by changing the name, Gandhiji has definitely been insulted. More importantly, protection has been removed from the poor.
Rahul Gandhi said that the very foundation of our Congress government’s thinking has been cut. That’s why Congress is fighting to save MNREGA across the country. They are engaged in protecting laborers. Narendra Modi wants all the country’s wealth to go to Adani and Ambani. On one hand, we are protecting the public, while on the other, Modi is busy taking the country’s money and giving it to Adani and Ambani.
On this occasion, MP KL Sharma, former MLA Ajaypal Singh and a large number of MNREGA workers and activists were present.

Rahul Gandhi inaugurated the Rae Bareli Premier League being held at the ITI Ground here. Before that, he met various delegations.
