New Delhi, January 11: India AI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, will organize the Uttar Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 in Lucknow on January 12β13.
The conference will focus on showcasing cutting-edge uses of artificial intelligence in governance and public service delivery, as well as advancing state-level initiatives in line with the goals of the India AI Mission.
According to the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, this conference is the official precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on February 16β20, and is part of a national series of eight Regional AI Impact Conferences being organized across the country. The Lucknow conference will be attended by senior policymakers, state and central government officials, global institutions, industry leaders, researchers, and innovators. The conference will deliberate on responsible, inclusive, and scalable AI adoption, particularly in the context of healthcare systems, digital public infrastructure, economic development, and social good.
The Ministry stated that during the two-day conference, plenary sessions will be held on topics such as the global AI landscape, AI-based healthcare delivery, state preparedness and capacity building, digital public infrastructure for health, AI-enabled diagnostics and clinical innovations, and workforce empowerment. There will also be a startup showcase, hackathon results, and industry-led demonstrations aimed at translating policy intent into widespread impact on the ground.
Prior to the conference, the India AI Working Group meeting on the theme of AI for Economic Growth and Social Good will be held in Lucknow on January 12th in a hybrid format. This meeting is being jointly organized by MeitY, India AI, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The Working Group is a key pillar of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 process, bringing together member countries, international organizations, policymakers, and subject matter experts to advance coordination on priority AI issues requiring global collaboration.
The Uttar Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference will build on the state’s growing progress in digital governance, health innovation, and technology-based public service delivery. The conference’s conclusions, working group meeting outcomes, and related ecosystem dialogues will strengthen the national roadmap for the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and underscore the Government of India’s commitment to safe, secure, and trustworthy AI in the public interest.
