Lucknow, December 7: Uttar Pradesh’s Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma has taken a crucial decision, providing another major relief to consumers under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme.

Previously, consumers who made partial payments after March 31, 2025, were excluded from the scheme, due to which many consumers were unable to avail the scheme. During his visits to various districts and inspections of electricity bill relief camps, many consumers requested the Minister that although they had made some payments in the months of April, May, and June, they still had a significant outstanding amount. Therefore, they should also be given the benefit of the scheme.

A state government spokesperson said that understanding the pain and real situation of the consumers, Energy Minister A.K. Sharma, with utmost sensitivity, immediately instructed officials to ensure that all such consumers were not deprived of the scheme’s benefits.

He clearly stated that the government’s objective is to provide relief to the maximum number of people, so consumers who have already paid but still have outstanding dues should receive the scheme’s benefits.

In accordance with the Energy Minister’s directives, all such consumers who have paid by November 30, 2025, have now been included in the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme. This decision will directly benefit a large number of consumers.
