Auraiya, June 18: The Police filed chargesheet in court on Wednesday against Pragati who got her husband killed just 14 days after marriage. Police filed chargesheet of 500 pages in which 32 witnesses and six accused were made. All the accused are in jail. Pragati had given money to the contract killer by selling the money and jewellery received in ‘Muh Dikhai’.
Sumer Yadav, originally a resident of Nagla Deepa of Bhogaon in Mainpuri, currently lives near Sehud temple in Dibiyapur and does business of Hydra and JCB. His four sons are in the same business. Sumer’s second son Dilip got married to Parul’s sister Pragati on March 5, 2025. She came to her maternal home after five days. On 19 March, Dilip was coming from Tirwa to Dibiyapur with a hydra. Meanwhile, bike riders picked him up near Patna canal in Sahar on the pretext of getting a pole lifted. There they beat him up and shot him. Thinking him dead, the killers fled. After this, when the villagers saw him, Dilip was admitted to Saifai Hospital. Where Dilip died on March 21.
The police searched about a dozen CCTVs in the vicinity and questioned people. In the CCTV, one accused Ramji Nagar, a resident of Achalda, who had come out of jail only the previous day, was arrested and Pragati’s lover Anurag was also arrested. After this, Pragati was arrested from her in-laws’ house in Nagla Deepa Mainpuri. Then it was revealed that Pragati had given one lakh for Dilip’s murder by selling her face and jewellery and was to give one lakh more rupees.
According to the chargesheet, Pragati told during interrogation that her lover Anurag’s house is in the neighbourhood of her village and there was a rivalry between the two families for many generations. She was impressed by Anurag’s high-fi style and came in contact with him. After this, when her marriage was fixed with Dilip, she did not tell anyone about Anurag because she thought her family would not agree.
Anurag told the police that he and Pragati decided that after the marriage, they would remove Dilip from the way and Pragati would get Dilip’s property. After becoming a widow, she would marry Pragati. To remove Dilip, she spoke to her aunt’s son, Chamraua resident Durlabh Yadav.
According to the chargesheet, Anurag told that at first he refused Pragati but due to greed for money, he agreed. Police made Pragati, Anurag, Durlabh, Ramu and Shivam accused. Police have made 32 people witnesses in this.
