Lucknow, June 18: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati questioned the state government’s publicity regarding the recruitment of 60,244 policemen in UP.
Taking a jibe at the government, Mayawati said that the government is publicising so much about the recruitment of 60,244 policemen in UP. This makes it seem that this is something new. Such recruitment in the police department is routine work. Recruitment had taken place in her government as well.
BSP chief Mayawati made two posts on X on Wednesday. In the first post, she said that recently 60,244 constables were recruited in the state. The government is publicising it a lot. The constable recruitment was publicised as if it was something new, whereas such recruitment in the police is routine work, so that the evil of backlog does not come to the police department as well. But in this recruitment, concerns have been raised about whether the entire society got its rightful rights or not and about their training.
Mayawati said that in her government, 1.20 lakh new posts were created in one go to establish the ‘rule of law’ and a justice-oriented environment in UP. Police recruitment was made an honest process. Its result was that people of all sections of society got the benefits of law and order without any discrimination, which is lacking a lot now.
