Most private schools have been designated as exam centers
UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh released the list
Prayagraj, December 18: So far, 8033 centers have been designated for the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education Prayagraj (UP Board) High School and Intermediate Examination-2026. After resolving objections received online by the Board regarding the proposed centers, the district committees have increased the number of centers by 585 this time.
District center determination committees have added the number of centers for private schools through offline mode. In the online list released by UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh on November 30, 7448 centers were designated, which included 910 government, 3484 aided, and 3054 unaided secondary schools.
Objections were sought from students, principals, parents, and administrators regarding the online centers announced by the UP Board. More than eight thousand objections were received across the state. A district-level committee, chaired by the District Magistrate, was tasked with resolving these objections and establishing centers.
Following the resolution of objections, the district committees increased the number of centers to 8,033. This includes 596 government inter colleges, 3,453 aided colleges, and 3,984 unaided schools. Consequently, the largest reduction has been made in the number of centers for government schools. The UP Board had designated 910 government schools as centers, but the district committees have removed 314 of these schools. The number of centers for 31 aided schools has also been reduced.
Late Wednesday night, UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh uploaded the list of proposed examination centers (including school and student allocations) online to the website upmsp.edu.in after approval by the district center determination committee.
He informed that if there is any objection or complaint regarding the list of centres including the allocation of students to the school, then the student, guardian, principal or manager can send their online representation along with evidence using the ID of the concerned school on the portal upmsp.edu.in by December 22. After the disposal of these representations, the final list of examination centres will be uploaded by December 30.
