Lucknow, August 22: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has exposed a gang making Aadhar cards of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis illegally through electronic and manual means. Two members of the gang have been arrested today. Thus, ten people involved in the gang have been arrested so far. Police is now preparing to take their remand.
Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Law and Order told journalists on Friday that UP ATS has exposed a gang providing Aadhar cards and documents to illegal foreign nationals, Rohingya Bangladeshis and ineligible persons in a fraudulent manner. This gang was active in UP, West Bengal, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana and NCR areas.
He told that the gang members gathered basic information about making Aadhar card by doing temporary job at Jan Seva Kendra. After this, they collected the data of authorized user’s ID and password, thumb impression and eye scan. A special app was used to bypass authorized laptop map number binding GPS and MAC number. After this, fake authorizations were created. After this, the brokers of the gang started contacting such people who did not have Indian documents.
He apprised that on this basis, birth certificate, residence certificate, affidavit etc. were prepared. These people prepared fake certificates to show age below 18 years. After this, authorization was done by creating dummy users. System ID was also misused. Two thousand to 40 thousand rupees were recovered for making fake Aadhar. These fake Aadhar were being used to make fake passports and to take advantage of government schemes.
ADG L&O added that already made Aadhar cards were also found from them. Akshay Saini, Talib Ansari, resident of Saharanpur district of UP, involved in the gang, have been arrested today. Earlier, Azamgarh resident Mo. Naseem, Mo. Saqib, Vishal Kumar, Mau resident Himanshu, Mrityunjay, Gorakhpur resident Rajiv Tiwari, Auraiya resident Gaurav Kumar Gautam, Ghaziabad resident Salman Ansari were arrested. The accused will be taken on remand for interrogation.
