Lucknow, 09 July: Tree plantation is being done in large numbers across the state on Wednesday. From 7 am to 12 noon, i.e. in 5 hours, 16 crore trees have been planted, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Today, the state’s Governor Anandi Ben Patel started the Tree Plantation Maha Abhiyan-2025 by planting saplings in Barabanki, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Ayodhya, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya in Meerut and Brajesh Pathak in Lucknow. Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, a target of planting 37 crore saplings has been set in the entire state today.
The Chief Minister also took a selfie after planting trees in Ayodhya. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi informed that under the Tree Plantation Maha Abhiyan-2025, 16 crore saplings have been planted in the state till 12 noon today.
Chief Minister said that along with development, the environment should be protected. Forest cover has increased in UP. Now we are moving from heat wave to green wave. Yogi said that inside the state, we have succeeded in taking forward the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the last 08 years, Uttar Pradesh has succeeded in increasing its forest cover by an additional 5 lakh acres by planting more than 204 crore trees. He said that there is life in these trees and plants too. Gods and goddesses reside in different trees.
The Chief Minister said that 08 years ago we did not have enough saplings to plant. When the Forest Department made sure efforts, then with the coordinated efforts of different departments, we have 52 crore saplings today.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Forest Minister Dr Arun Kumar Saxena, Ayodhya Mayor Mahant Girish Pati Tripathi, BJP District President Sanjeev Singh, MLA Ved Prakash Gupta, Rudauli MLA Ramchandra Yadav, Milkipur MLA Chandrabhan Paswan, Bikapur MLA Dr Amit Singh Chauhan were present with the Chief Minister during tree plantation in Ayodhya.
