Sambhal, February 17: A tragic incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district where a husband and wife ended their lives by hanging themselves inside their home, informed police.
The woman was nine months pregnant at the time. Police arrived promptly at the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination, while investigations into the cause of the suicide are underway.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Akhilesh Pradhan reported that the bodies of Khoraj Yadav (25) and his wife Saroj (25) were discovered hanging from the same sari in their room in Khedamani village, under the jurisdiction of Junawai police station. Saroj was in the final stage of pregnancy. The news quickly spread, drawing villagers and Saroj’s maternal family members to the site.
According to inquiries, Saroj had married Khoraj two years ago. Khoraj was the son of Virendra from Bhirawati village in Dhanari police station area. Family members stated they were unaware of any reason behind the couple’s drastic step. It was noted that Khoraj’s younger brother Rajendra had just returned from Delhi the previous day, and their mother’s name is Kathori.
The SHO Akhilesh Pradhan confirmed that the bodies have been sent for autopsy and assured that the reasons behind the suicide will be revealed soon.
