‘The Bengal Files’ moves ahead with slight growth at Box Office

The audience and the producers had high expectations from Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial debut ‘The Bengal Files’, but the film could not leave much impact at the box office. The film, starring stars like Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Simrat Kaur, had a very slow start. However, due to the weekend, its earnings registered a slight jump.

According to the report of box office tracker Sacnilk, ‘The Bengal Files’ did a business of Rs 2.75 crore on the third day of its release i.e. on the first Sunday. With this, the total collection of the film has reached Rs 6.65 crore.

It is worth noting that the film had a weak start of only Rs 1.75 crore on the first day, while on the second day its earnings increased to Rs 2.15 crore. It is being told that ‘The Bengal Files’ has been made in a budget of about Rs 50 crore.

‘The Bengal Files’ is a fictional drama based on real events related to Indian history and politics. The film depicts the communal violence that took place in West Bengal in the 1940s, bringing to screen the horrific tragedy of Direct Action Day and Noakhali riots.

It also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi along with actors like Shashvat Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty and Sourav Das. Currently, ‘The Bengal Files’ is competing with big films like ‘Param Sundari’ and ‘Baaghi 4’ at the box office.
