SP Goyal takes charge as Chief Secretary of UP, Sanjay Prasad gets additional charge

Lucknow, July 31: Uttar Pradesh has got a new Chief Secretary. The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order to appoint 1989 batch senior IAS officer SP Goyal as the new Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. After this, on Thursday itself, SP Goyal reached the Chief Secretary’s office in Lok Bhavan and took charge. Outgoing Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh formally handed over the charge to him.

After taking charge at Lok Bhavan, Chief Secretary SP Goyal said that first of all I would like to thank Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He has given me an opportunity to serve the state. With the Chief Minister’s priorities like zero tolerance, industrial development, the ideals that Manoj Kumar Singh has set as Chief Secretary, I can also work with the same speed. I will try to speed up the development work of Uttar Pradesh with team spirit.

On the occasion of taking charge, Principal Secretary Home and Information Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary Culture Mukesh Meshram, senior IAS officer Alok Kumar and Lucknow District Magistrate Vishakh along with other senior officers were present. Senior officers congratulated him.

It is noteworthy that the role of SP Goyal became important since the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Yogi government came to power in Uttar Pradesh. He was holding the post of Principal Secretary Chief Minister for a long time. While holding this post, he was promoted to the post of Additional Chief Secretary.

At this time, he had the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister, Civil Aviation, State Property and Protocol Department. Now he has been made the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh.

Along with this, the responsibility of senior IAS officer Sanjay Prasad has also been changed. Sanjay Prasad has been given additional charge of Principal Secretary Chief Minister, Protocol, Home, Secrecy, Visa Passport, Vigilance and Information and Public Relations Department as well as Principal Secretary State Property and Civil Aviation Department.
