Gorakhpur, 24 August: The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that only those castes and communities survive in history, which make the valor and sacrifice of their ancestors a part of their life. Sikh Gurus always sacrificed their lives to protect “Sanatan Dharma” and Indian culture. Their valor and sacrifice are still alive in the soul of the country.
Chief Minister was addressing a program organized at Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha located in Paidleganj, Gorakhpur on Sunday.
On this occasion, he inaugurated tourism development works, new form of Gurudwara building and expansion works of basic facilities. In the program, the Chief Minister listened to Gurbani in the gathering organized on the first Prakash Parv of the holy Guru Granth Sahib and joined the Sangat. He was also honored by the Gurudwara Committee by presenting him a symbol and shawl.
Chief Minister said that the tradition of Sikh Gurus has been unique and unbroken. From Guru Nanak Dev to Guru Govind Singhji Maharaj, every Guru sacrificed everything for the protection of Sanatan Dharma and the nation. He said that whenever Indian culture was in danger, the Sikh Gurus came forward and saved it with their sacrifice.
Chief Minister Yogi especially remembered the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur. He said that programs are being organized across the country in the 350th year of his sacrifice. Recently, this event was started from the Chief Minister’s residence through Nagar Kirtan and Kirtan Paath. Similarly, on the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Devji Maharaj, Gurbani was organized for the first time at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Yogi said that the sacrifice of four Sahibzadas of Guru Govind Singhji Maharaj, Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh was remembered. He said that their sacrifice is a glorious chapter in Indian history.
He said that when they were lured that if they accept Islam, both their life and kingdom will be safe, but instead of bowing down, they chose the path of sacrifice. The younger Sahibzadas were martyred by bricking them into the wall, but they showed strong devotion to protect their religion and nation. The Chief Minister said that this sacrifice inspires all of us today.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 26 December is being celebrated as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ in the entire country. This is a historic decision to pay tribute to the sacrifice of Sikh Gurus and Sahibzadas.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this Gurudwara of Padleganj has been the center of faith of the Sikh community for years. Earlier there was a lack of facilities here, but now with the help of the Tourism Department and the government, it has been given a modern look. Now Gurbani Paath, Langar and other religious programs will be held here for the devotees with better facilities.
He said that the Gurudwara is not limited to any caste or community only. Every person coming here is welcomed. This is the real message of Sikh tradition and Gurbani.
Chief Minister said that work has been done to give a better look to the three major Gurudwaras of Gorakhpur, Jata Shankar, Mohaddipur and Padleganj. This is a symbol of our gratitude and reverence towards the Sikh Guru tradition.
CM Yogi said that today is also sacred for us because 421 years ago on this day Guru Granth Sahib Ji was established in Harmandir Sahib and he was accepted as Guru. This tradition is still a center of faith and reverence all over the world.
He said that Sikh Gurus dedicated every moment of their lives for the welfare of the country, religion and humanity. Today it is our responsibility to express gratitude towards their teachings and sacrifice and work with full devotion to protect the nation and religion.
Underlining the role of the Sikh community in Gorakhpur, he said that this event is an opportunity to unite the Sikh community of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Referring to his regular Guru Parv events in Lucknow, he said that it is a special privilege for him to participate in such an event in Gorakhpur. He said that the Guru tradition dedicated its life for the country and Sanatan Dharma, with their inspiration we have to work with full honesty for the country and religion.
