Hapur/Ghaziabad, May 29: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Delhi Special Police jointly killed interstate sharpshooter Naveen of Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba gang during an encounter late on Wednesday night while his other partner managed to flee in the dark. The STF’s Ankur and Delhi Special Cell’s Vijendra were also injured in this encounter.
As per the report, an unnumbered motorcycle, a pistol and cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the slain miscreant. Naveen had currently joined the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and carried out many criminal acts. He was also the main sharpshooter in a murder case in Gurugram, Haryana. He was wanted from Delhi in a robbery of Rs 26 lakh. He used to change his hideouts continuously to avoid arrest. About 20 serious criminal cases like murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, robbery and the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) are registered against Naveen in various police stations of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The court had also sentenced him in two cases of Delhi.
According to the police records, he was a gangster of North East Delhi, currently was working for Lawrence Bishnoi.
The STF Noida ASP RK Mishra said that information was received about Naveen, who is wanted in the murder, that he is engaged in carrying out a big incident in UP-NCR. The STF and Delhi Special Cell team were after him. The police was wandering in search of him for 20 consecutive days. On Wednesday, he came towards Hapur to carry out the incident. While the police was behind him. On suspicion, he opened fire on the police, in which two policemen Ankur and Vijendra were injured. He was injured in the retaliatory action of the police. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Where the doctors declared him dead. Naveen’s death in the encounter is considered an important link.
Police sources say that security agencies hope that this will help in breaking the internal mechanism and funding network of the gang.
