‘Shaheed’ Gajendra Gadhiya cremated with full military honour at his hometown

Bageshwar, January 20: A barve Indian Army Havildar Gajendra Singh Gadhiya, who was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), was given a final farewell with military honors at the Saryu-Kheerganga confluence in his home district of Bageshwar on Tuesday.

Senior district officials and public representatives, along with a large number of local residents, were present on the occasion.

The mortal remains of the martyr, a resident of Beethi in Kapkot tehsil, were brought by military helicopter. His parents, wife, family members, villagers, and officials paid their last respects by laying wreaths at the PG College grounds amid chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Martyr Gajendra Singh Amar Rahein.”

The 19th Sikh Regiment of the Army then presented a guard of honor. Military officers paid tribute to the martyr’s indomitable courage and service to the nation. After this, martyr Gajendra was cremated with full military honors at the confluence of the Saryu-Kheerganga confluence. People paid their last respects to martyr Havildar Gajendra Singh Gadhiya, calling him an inspiration for generations to come.

The District Magistrate (DM) Akanksha Konde, Para Lieutenant Colonel Hari Louis, MLA Suresh Gadhiya, Minister of State with registered office Shiv Singh Bisht, Sub-District Magistrate Anil Chanyal, Military Welfare Officer Vijay Manral, and a large number of local citizens were present on this occasion.
