Lucknow, June 17: The Ghazipur district police has frozen the total amount of Rs 8 lakh 91 thousand 268 deposited in SBI account of Afsa Ansari, absconding wife of mafia don Mukhtar Ansari.
Ghazipur district’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Irar Raza told reporters that the inspector of Kotwali police station inquired about the bank account of absconding Afsa Ansari, who has a reward of fifty thousand on her head, in the State Bank of India branch of UP Civil Secretariat in Lucknow. After this, the inspector talked to the bank officials and shared the complete information. After this, the bank officer froze the amount deposited in Afsa Ansari’s bank account number 10223102494.
In the police records of Ghazipur district, the name of IS-191 gang is associated with Mukhtar Ansari. A case has been registered against Mukhtar’s wife Afsa Ansari in Kotwali police station Ghazipur under sections 406, 420, 386, 506 for threatening people, extortion, fraud. Also, UP Gangster Act has been imposed on Afsa. UP Police has placed a bounty on Afsa since she absconded.
