Sambhal, November 13: The City Magistrate raided the ARTO office in Sambhal after receiving a complaint about facilitation fees. The entire office premises were cordoned off, but not a single broker was caught. The brokers operating in the office fled the scene before the magistrate arrived.
This action took place this afternoon at the ARTO office located in the Tehsil complex on Moradabad Road in the Sambhal Kotwali area.
City Magistrate Sudhir Kumar inspected every section of the office for an hour and a half. During this time, RTO Amitabh Chaturvedi also arrived. The magistrate spoke with people who had come to obtain driving licenses and transfer vehicles to gather information about brokers who were charging facilitation fees, but no clues were found.
City Magistrate Sudhir Kumar stated that he had been receiving complaints for a long time about brokers charging facilitation fees to obtain work at the ARTO office. He spoke with people who had come to get their work done and informed them that no one needed to pay any convenience fee. Government offices operate under a “zero tolerance” policy.
